New Washington had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-64 victory over the Waldron Mohawks on Friday. The Mustangs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

New Washington's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Waldron, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

New Washington will head out on the road to take on Eastern at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Waldron has already played their next game, a 62-57 victory against Rock Creek Academy on the 27th.
