Pinnacle Classical Academy skates past Lake Lure Classical Academy with ease

The Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They really took it to Lake Lure Classical Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-10 win on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.

Pinnacle Classical Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Akeelah Davis out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Davis is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Lily Wellmon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals and three blocks.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Thomas Jefferson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Veritas Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Veritas Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
