Volleyball Game Preview: New Castle Trojans vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy

For the first time this season, New Castle will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Irvington Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

New Castle saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to Indianapolis Shortridge. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Irvington Preparatory Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Warren Central by a score of 3-1.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 26-24, 27-25, 25-13.

New Castle will have to keep a close watch on Jason Norton and John Curry, a pair of players who had a big impact on Irvington Preparatory Academy's prior game. Norton had ten digs and two aces, while Curry had 20 digs and three assists.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for New Castle, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
