For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Paris and Richland County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Friday. Paris lost to Richland County on the road by a 41-22 margin. While losing is never fun, Paris can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Richland County is ranked 155th).
Robinson now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Paris, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-3.
Robinson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Paris when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Tigers' Mason Byrnes, who rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Maroons to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
