Deerfield's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Parkview Vikings a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Demons have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Deerfield's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Parkview, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Deerfield will face off against Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkview, they will challenge South Beloit at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sobos have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
