Soccer Game Preview: Sequatchie County vs. Brainerd

The Sequatchie County Indians will head out to challenge the Brainerd Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sequatchie County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals last Thursday, they were much more limited against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences on Thursday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Patriots who were credited with the win. Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Sequatchie County's two. The loss was Sequatchie County's first of the season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Brainerd duked it out with Polk County last Thursday. The Panthers' defense stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 2-0 shutout.

Moises Garcia and Hamilton Pablo Pascaul scored both of Brainerd's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Brainerd now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Sequatchie County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1-2.

Sequatchie County took their victory against Brainerd in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
