Baseball Game Preview: Covington Owls vs. Blum Bobcats

For the second straight game, Covington will face off against Blum. The Owls will take on the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Covington came up short against Blum and fell 7-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Owls in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Jeremiah Cunningham put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Cunningham wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ivan Mendez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Blum's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-2.
