Escalante had to endure a six-match losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Penasco Panthers with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The Lobos not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 4th (when they won 3-0).

One reason for the win was Escalante's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-14.

Escalante's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-13. As for Penasco, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Escalante is set to take on their familiar foe Questa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Penasco will face off against rival Mora at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
