Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Classical Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Oak Grove Classical Academy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Laguna Acoma Hawks by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Owls sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Isaac Rush made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brody Prochnow was incredible, going 2-for-3 with seven stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those seven stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grayson Grebe, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Oak Grove Classical Academy pushed their record up to 10-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Laguna Acoma, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

Looking ahead, Oak Grove Classical Academy will face off against Santa Rosa at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th. The Lions will roll in looking for their 17th straight win, something the Owls surely won't give up without a fight. Laguna Acoma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
