Basketball Recap: Atlantic Christian Beats Genoa Christian Academy for Their 11th Straight Victory

Atlantic Christian had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.9 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They walked away with a 64-56 win over Genoa Christian Academy. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 181st in New Jersey, while Genoa Christian Academy are ranked 476th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Atlantic Christian to victory were Noah Stokes and Ethan Costello. Stokes posted 30 points, while Costello earned 20 points. Stokes' big performance that afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Genoa Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Kirura, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 31 points, and Evan Allgood, who went 7-for-13 en route to 18 points and five boards. Kirura is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Gilham, who had five points.

Atlantic Christian's victory bumped their record up to 26-10. As for Genoa Christian Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-5 record.

As of now, neither Atlantic Christian nor Genoa Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
