Recap: Lehi Pioneers vs. Skyridge Falcons
The Lehi Pioneers came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 50-37 win over Skyridge. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lehi also won the last time the pair played back in January.
It was another big night for Addy Scrivner, who scored 16 points along with six blocks and five rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Kaleigh Freeman, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Skyridge still got an impressive performance from Cambree Blackham, who scored ten points along with four blocks. It was the first time this season that Blackham posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Shae Toole, who scored 11 points.
Lehi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Skyridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehi will challenge Lone Peak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lone Peak is on a three-game streak of home wins, Lehi a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Skyridge, they will head out on the road to challenge Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Skyridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday.
