Soccer Recap: Garinger Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Garinger was riding high fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Hopewell on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the South Mecklenburg Sabres on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Garinger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while South Mecklenburg are ranked seventh).

Garinger's goal came courtesy of Jace Garrett, who's now up to 14 this season.

Garinger's loss dropped their record down to 8-5-2. As for South Mecklenburg, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2-3.

Looking ahead, Garinger will be playing in front of their home fans against West Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Garinger are facing West Mecklenburg at the right time seeing as West Mecklenburg are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for South Mecklenburg, they are taking a road trip to square off against Charlotte Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
