Softball Recap: Glenn Takes a Loss

Glenn had lost seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 9-17 to make it eight. They lost 15-5 to the Franklin Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 19-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sam Farrell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

As for Franklin, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-14. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 16-0).

On Franklin's side, Sarah Schniers was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Schniers was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests.

In other batting news, Savana Mullen was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyson Donohue, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

While Glenn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
