Baseball Recap: Salesian Comes Up Short

Salesian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fordham Prep Rams. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Salesian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Avelino, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Avelino's first of the season.

Salesian's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Fordham Prep, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Salesian will head out to square off against Kennedy Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Gaels have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Fordham Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal Spellman at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
