Softball Recap: Taylor Wildcats vs. Trinity Catholic Celtics
After flying high against Atlantic last Tuesday, Taylor came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Trinity Catholic Celtics by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Celtics recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Amya Ramos was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Taylor Lane, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Trinity Catholic, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-6.
Coming up, Taylor will look to defend their home field on Monday against Interlachen at 6:00 p.m. The Wildcats are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Trinity Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Gainesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hurricanes' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Celtics' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
