Burke County strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Putnam County War Eagles by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Burke County was: they took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-13.

Londyn Williams paced Burke County's offense, picking up seven kills. Williams got some help from Maritza Rivera and her five assists. Rivera was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Burke County's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Putnam County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Burke County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hephzibah on the 6th. As for Putnam County, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lamar County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
