Basketball Game Preview: Crystal Lake South Gators vs. Hampshire Whip-Purs

Crystal Lake South is 1-9 against Hampshire since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Crystal Lake South Gators will challenge the Hampshire Whip-Purs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Crystal Lake South is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-39 heartbreaker at the hands of Cary-Grove. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Trojans are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, Hampshire came up short against Crystal Lake Central on Friday and fell 51-38. The Whip-Purs haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Crystal Lake South now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Hampshire, they now also have a losing record at 13-14.

Crystal Lake South lost to Hampshire on the road by a decisive 58-43 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Crystal Lake South avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
