Sigourney had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Iowa Valley on Monday. The Savages put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-5 win. Considering the Savages have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Sigourney's seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Iowa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
