Basketball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 52-34 bruising from the First Baptist Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while the Lions are ranked 107th).

Southwest now has a losing record at 7-8. As for First Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest will challenge Varela at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Varela will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Southwest surely won't give up without a fight. As for First Baptist Academy, they will be playing at home against Oasis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
