Baseball Game Preview: Carroll Tigers vs. Ballard Bombers

Carroll hasn't had much luck against Ballard recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will welcome the Bombers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Carroll 2, Ballard 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

While Carroll's win against Woodward-Granger wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Hawks on Friday. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Ballard came up short against Grinnell on Thursday and fell 7-4. The loss was the Bombers' first of the season.

Carroll's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Ballard, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Carroll might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Ballard in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
