Recap: Hope Academy Trojan Tigers vs. Four Corners Coyotes
After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Monday, the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers came back down to earth. Hope Academy's rough 63-40 defeat to Four Corners on Friday might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Hope Academy has suffered since December 5, 2023.
Four Corners' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karina Cruz led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mia Villanueva, who scored 19 points along with nine assists and five steals.
Hope Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Four Corners, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hope Academy will take on East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. East Ridge is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Four Corners, Four Corners and Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Ridgeview Global Studies Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday.
