 Paulding fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Allen East  on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Allen East Mustangs by a score of  5-4. Paulding was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Allen East apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2019.
 Paulding saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kane Jones, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
 On Allen East's side,  Jackson Thompson was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Paulding's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Allen East, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record  this season.
 Paulding will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Defiance at 5:00  p.m. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Paulding: 3.9, Defiance: 2.6) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Allen East, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Columbus Grove at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
