Baseball Game Preview: Eau Claire Shamrocks vs. Columbia Capitals

For the first time this season, Eau Claire will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Tuesday. They will take on the Columbia Capitals at 6:00 p.m. Columbia took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Eau Claire, who comes in off a win.

Eau Claire took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Crestwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Eau Claire skirted past Crestwood 6-4.

Meanwhile, Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lee Central. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Capitals were not able to get on the board.

Eau Claire now has a winning record of 1-0-1. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Eau Claire took their win against Columbia in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. Does Eau Claire have another victory up their sleeve, or will Columbia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
