Softball Recap: Glenn Falcons vs. Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles
It was a Battle of the Birds when Glenn duked it out with Elkhart Christian Academy on Monday. The Falcons beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2015.
Lexie Baugher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Glenn let Makinzie Kline and Sophia Lizzi run wild. Kline got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Lizzi went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Lizzi continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Allie Brinkhoff also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Glenn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Glenn's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3.
Coming up, Glenn will take on Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Redskins at the right time seeing as the Redskins are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they will face off against Argos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
