Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chester). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Fairfield Central Griffins a 24-0 shutout on Friday. While the Cyclones didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win made it two in a row for Chester and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Fairfield Central, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chester will face off against Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairfield Central, they will square off against Newberry at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairfield Central is facing Newberry at the right time seeing as Newberry is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
