The Tomah Timberwolves will challenge the Monona Grove Silver Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tomah's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Monona Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Tomah is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on West Salem with a sharp 13-1 victory on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Timberwolves considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Anna Wall made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Brohmer, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brielle Plueger, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Tomah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Salem only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Monona Grove hadn't done well against Watertown recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Silver Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Goslings. The game was the first time the Silver Eagles have beaten the Goslings on their field since May 4, 2022.
Brooklyn Vanden Branden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.
At the plate, Bella Martin and Addison Duerst did most of the damage at the plate: Martin went 2-for-3 with one home run, while Duerst went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Tomah pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games. As for Monona Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Tomah got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Monona Grove by a conclusive 9-0 score. Do the Timberwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Silver Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
