Volleyball Recap: Appleton East Comes Up Short

Appleton East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Appleton East saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addison Kiekhaefer had seven assists and six digs.

Appleton East's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Luxemburg-Casco, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Appleton East and Luxemburg-Casco will both be playing Manitowoc Lincoln the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Ships at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 10:30 a.m.
