Basketball Game Preview: Westfair Christian vs. First Baptist Academy

Westfair Christian will face off against First Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Westfair Christian's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while First Baptist Academy has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Monday, Westfair Christian lost to Varsity Opponent on the road by a 68-53 margin.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mason Bordean, who went 9 of 14 en route to 21 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Greyson Prevett, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Westfair Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, First Baptist Academy ended up a good deal behind Mt. Olive on Tuesday and lost 58-44.

First Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Westfair Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
