Volleyball Recap: Lake Mills Triumphs

Lake Mills won the last time they faced Evansville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The L-Cats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Devils.

Lake Mills had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-15.

Brooke Palmer paced Lake Mills' offense, picking up 13 kills. Palmer got some help from Debra Bruce and her 39 assists. Bruce also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sophie Hooper, racking up six apiece.

Lake Mills' win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Evansville, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Lake Mills will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Lakeside Lutheran at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the L-Cats their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Evansville, they will face off against Mineral Point at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
