Basketball Recap: Lucas Haymer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lighthouse Christian over Lancaster Christian Academy

After flying high against Riverside Christian Academy last Thursday, Lighthouse Christian came back down to earth. The Lions took a 66-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancaster Christian Academy Knights on Tuesday. The Lions lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 75-39 score last time.

Lighthouse Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lucas Haymer, who posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Buggs, who scored 13 points.

Josh Whitt had an outrageously good game for Lancaster Christian Academy as he dropped a double-double with 54 points and 12 boards. Whitt's big performance that evening made it 20 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Judah Jansen was another key player, putting up four points and five assists.

Lighthouse Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lancaster Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Lighthouse Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on RePublic at 12:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Lancaster Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-62 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 21st.
