Football Recap: Wheatmore Comes Up Short

Wheatmore extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They received a blow as they fell 37-19 to the Thomasville Bulldogs. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2016.

As for Thomasville, the victory got them back to even at 3-3. That looming 37-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Kayden Lucas and Quintin Brunson. Lucas rushed for 92 yards on only six carries while Brunson rushed for 90 yards on only six carries.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wheatmore will challenge rival East Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Thomasville is set to square off against their familiar foe West Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
