Baseball Recap: Raymond/South Bend's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Raymond/South Bend came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Morton/White Pass Timberwolves on Friday as they made off with an 18-3 victory. With that win, the Ravens brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Nolen Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Raymond/South Bend is 2-1 when Miller allows two or fewer hits, but 0-6 otherwise. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Preston Toepelt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Keeton Nichols was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
