Volleyball Recap: Battle Creek Braves vs. Norfolk Catholic Knights
Battle Creek came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Norfolk Catholic Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
Battle Creek was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Norfolk Catholic work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 26-24, 25-22.
Ryder Wehrle paced Battle Creek's offense, picking up 13 kills. Wehrle got some help from Ava Kuchar and her 20 assists. Kuchar also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ali Korth, each putting up two.
Norfolk Catholic found their leader in sophomore Reese Timmerman, who had 15 digs and three assists.
