Recap: Elizabeth Minutemen vs. Teaneck Highwaymen

After a string of three wins, the Elizabeth Minutemen's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Teaneck. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Elizabeth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jah'nae Lembrick, who scored 18 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lembrick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dynasty Chandler, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Teaneck, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Elizabeth will be playing in front of their home fans against Oak Knoll at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Knoll has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 27. As for Teaneck, they will head out on the road to take on NV - Demarest at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in NV - Demarest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
