Baseball Recap: Maple Lake Drops Highest Score of Season Against Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City

Maple Lake scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons by a score of 7-6. The Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Maple Lake dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Lake will face off against Litchfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.15 runs per game on average), something the Irish will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, they will take on Royalton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
