Volleyball Recap: Banner County Takes a Loss

Banner County was the 2-0 winner over Creek Valley when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Storm by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Banner County actually scored more points across those five sets (102-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 16-25, 16-25, 16-14.

Leeigh McGowan paced Banner County's offense, picking up 11 kills. McGowan got some help from Makynna Boettcher and her 14 assists. McGowan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Banner County's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Creek Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Banner County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Peetz on the 27th. As for Creek Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Minatare on the 30th.
