Baseball Recap: JUSTIN CASTANEDA and Dennis Gurrola Secure Win for Hawkins

Hawkins's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Dymally Challengers by a score of 17-7 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Challengers back in April, they had to take a 19-6 loss.

Hawkins let Dennis Gurrola and JUSTIN CASTANEDA run wild. Gurrola went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double, while CASTANEDA got on base in three of his seven plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Gurrola is becoming a predictor of Hawkins' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

Hawkins' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Dymally, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Hawkins nor Dymally have any future games scheduled.
