Basketball Recap: Des Lacs-Burlington Comes Up Short

Des Lacs-Burlington was the 67-47 winner over Bishop Ryan when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Des Lacs-Burlington Lakers took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Ryan Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while the Lions are ranked fourth).

Des Lacs-Burlington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Bishop Ryan, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Des Lacs-Burlington will face off against Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bishop Ryan, they will take on Velva at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Ryan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Velva likes a good challenge.
