Baseball Game Preview: Shepherd Hill Regional Rams vs. Millbury Woolies

The Shepherd Hill Regional Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Millbury Woolies at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shepherd Hill Regional's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Millbury's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Shepherd Hill Regional's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Tantasqua Regional hitters got past them. The Rams lost 12-2 to the Warriors on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rams couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Millbury got the win against Medway on Friday by a conclusive 11-2. Considering the Woolies have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Millbury pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Shepherd Hill Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Shepherd Hill Regional couldn't quite finish off Millbury in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 3-1. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
