Basketball Recap: Spooner Takes a Loss

Spooner lost against Northwestern back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spooner Rails took a 78-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwestern Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (65), the Rails still had to take the loss.

Spooner has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points over those games. The victory was the third in a row for Northwestern, bringing their record for this year to 16-6.

As of now, neither Spooner nor Northwestern have any future games scheduled.
