After losing to Lamesa the last time they met, Stanton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Buffaloes sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Tornadoes on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buffaloes.

The team relied heavily on Austin Salgado, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braydn Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Stanton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Stanton's record is now 14-8. As for Lamesa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
