Soccer Game Preview: Seagoville vs. North Mesquite

The Seagoville Dragons will challenge the North Mesquite Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Seagoville fell victim to Wilson and their airtight defense on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Mesquite). Their defense stepped up to hand Spruce an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Stallions in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won five in a row.

North Mesquite's offense was hitting Spruce from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Adan Aguilar led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

North Mesquite pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four matches. As for Seagoville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
