Soccer Recap: North Grand Finds Playoff Glory Versus Kennedy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Grand walked away with it. They came out on top against the Kennedy Crusaders by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering North Grand's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Kennedy are ranked 368th).

Bryanelis Rivera was the driving force of North Grand's attack as she scored both of North Grand's goals, bringing her season total up to eight goals.

North Grand's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. As for Kennedy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7-3.

North Grand has already played their next matchup, a 4-1 loss against Marine Leadership Academy on the 28th. As for Kennedy, they will challenge Niles West at 10:00 a.m. on May 3.
