Softball Game Preview: Concord Spiders vs. Cox Mill Chargers

Concord is 1-9 against Cox Mill since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Spiders will host the Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Cox Mill took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Concord, who comes in off a win.

Concord played against Forest Hills on Wednesday and won via forfeit.

On Wednesday, Cox Mill came up short against Ballantyne Ridge and fell 7-4. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sienna Papineau and Audrey Barnhill did some serious damage despite the final result: Papineau got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI, while Barnhill scored a run while going 3-for-3. That triple was Papineau's first of the season.

Cox Mill's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Concord, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Concord couldn't quite finish off Cox Mill in their previous meeting back in March of 2020 and fell 9-7. Can the Spiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
