Basketball Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Centennial Coyotes

The Willow Canyon Wildcats will take on the Centennial Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Willow Canyon's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

Willow Canyon will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Ironwood, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Willow Canyon skirted past Ironwood 74-71. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since December 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Centennial). They took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 94-54 victory over Lake Havasu. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Knights are ranked 276th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Willow Canyon's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.6 points. As for Centennial, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12.
