Preview: Wethersfield Eagles vs. Windsor Warriors
Wethersfield and Windsor are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Wethersfield Eagles will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Windsor Warriors at 6:45 p.m. on February 9th. Wethersfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 113th, while Windsor is ranked 27th).
Last Tuesday, Wethersfield had to suffer through a rough 54-16 loss at the hands of Newington. Wethersfield has not had much luck with Newington recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Windsor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-50 win over Rocky Hill.
Wethersfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Windsor, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.
Wethersfield came up short against Windsor when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 53-42. Can Wethersfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
