Baseball Recap: Mechanicsburg Gets the Win

Mechanicsburg posted their closest victory since May 2, 2024 on Saturday. They skirted past the Twin Valley Raiders 7-5. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dane Mark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Mark was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other pitching news, Gino Coleman looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Drake Dawson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season.

Mechanicsburg now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Twin Valley, their record now sits at an identical 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mechanicsburg will challenge Cumberland Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Cumberland Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Twin Valley, they will square off against Daniel Boone at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. This will be Twin Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
