Baseball Recap: York Finds Home Field Redemption Against Northwestern

There's no place like home for York, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Northwestern Trojans on Thursday, sneaking past 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Cougars as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lem Moss was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. York is undefeated when Moss posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Sweatt, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

York's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Northwestern, they moved to 9-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. York will challenge St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwestern, they will face off against South Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
