Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Bruins vs. Hillcrest Christian Cougars
The Hillcrest Christian Cougars typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins proved too difficult a challenge. St. Joseph Catholic walked away with a 46-34 victory over Hillcrest Christian. The win was nothing new for St. Joseph Catholic as they're now sitting on six straight.
Despite the loss, Hillcrest Christian still got an impressive performance from Jaivyn Carter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Severe McNeary, who scored 5 points.
St. Joseph Catholic pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Hillcrest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Catholic's road trip will continue as they head out to face Clinton Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Clinton Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 178th, while St. Joseph Catholic is ranked 24th). As for Hillcrest Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Silliman Institute at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
