Baseball Recap: Milford Takes a Loss

Salt Fork hit Milford with a six-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bearcats took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Milford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Frerichs, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Colt Halpin was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Milford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Salt Fork, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Milford has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 loss against Schlarman on the 14th. As for Salt Fork, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-8 defeat against Rantoul on the 12th.
